About the Octagon

A unique and unusual London venue, the Octagon was originally opened in 1888. During the restoration, in 2006, the unusual Victorian detailing was lovingly brought backto life, the intricate detailing of the ornate plaster work revealed and the venue's books and bookshelves re-instated in the cast iron galleries.

The Octagon is an eight sided hall, it is triple height and culminates in a grand decorated ceiling, crowned by a glazed central lantern. From the eight corners of the hall a group of distinguished golden literati gaze down upon you: Byron, Chaucer, Dryden, Johnson, Milton, Scott, Shakespeare and Wordsworth.

It now provides an unusual venue for hosting a variety of events bringing together modern facilities with a venue rich in character and old world charm, just two miles from the centre of London.

The Octagon's unusual décor, versatility and London location make it a unique venue proposition for a host of functions, conferences and ceremonies, formal dinners, drinks receptions and product launches. Experienced conference team offers full professional support for all events, however distinctive your needs.
